We spent four nights at the Sarann hotel in Koh Samui. We spent our time enjoying the beaches, swimming, walking along the coast, and eating great food from small stalls. A highlight has been looking out at the ocean from the infinity pool. The hot tub in our hotel room was also a bonus!
It was the first time in ages that I (Emily) had absolutely nothing to do but relax. We had just submitted our US visa application before arriving, so for once there were no tasks, no deadlines and no work. At first I found this very difficult but slowly I discovered the joys of reading a good book by the pool and simply soaking in the view without any distractions.
Bryson, on the other hand, worked hard on this website. It was no small task dealing with the user unfriendly WordPress website creation system! He also spent time doing art and drawings.
He made friends with a hotel bird (who visited us everyday at breakfast) and two beach dogs (Bernie and Sandy) who may or may not be expecting puppies (its rude to assume those kinds of things). I, however, was not so keen on the bird who tried to eat my food or the beach dogs who were probably weren’t vaccinated.
On Thursday decided to check out the central Samui mall (thanks to a free hotel bus). We found some great value pearls and Bryson was very excited about finding coloured leads for his mechanical pencil. Of course we had to take a picture with White Lotus experience as we had been watching season 3 of show due to it being filmed on the island.
We also had many romantic dinners. One in particular involved watching fire dancers on the beach while eating coconut ice cream.
Thank you Koh Samui.
