So nice we came here twice!

It was as big loud and beautiful as we remembered. The allure of Bangkok drew us back in for another round of sensory overload in the way that only it can. With the expiration of our Thai visas imminent, flying out of Bangkok seemed like the way to go. We stayed in the downtown area near the malls and office buildings. Floor 31 of the hotel gave us a dramatic cityscape to wake up to every morning. Emily made it her goal to sketch the skyline before we left and was debatably successful. I on the other hand spent my time at the hotel in the sauna and swimming on the pool relaxing among the Giant African Land Snails. I don’t know why snails the size of tennis balls were wandering around the 11th floor garden, but I certainly enjoyed them. We wanted to fully experience the malls, food stalls, and shops of downtown and we were overwhelmed with choices. My method of choosing food was mostly smell based, while Emily tends to dart to the stall with the longest line. I gained 97 kg but it was worth it. We found ourselves wandering around on Halloween walking on the sky train walkway with Emily being chased around by a few 5 year old ghouls with excellent homemade costumes. I think her terror was genuine, but she insists that her shrieks were just playing along with the festivities. We took the opportunity to get haircuts, manicures, pedicures, massages, toe waxings and every other form of pampering we could imagine while here. Emily looks like a mean girl on Tuesday with all the girly trappings she acquired (Emily if you are reading this I think it’s cute). All in all we had an amazing time back in Bangkok and are excited to return.
